Seminole County's seat is Sanford, up on the south shore of Lake Monroe where the St. Johns River broadens out.
Seminole is remarkable mostly for its density. It is among the physically smallest counties in Florida, and yet four of our town pages sit inside it — Sanford, Longwood, Lake Mary and Altamonte Springs. In practical terms there is very little of this county that is far from somewhere we already work, and journeys between jobs here are measured in minutes rather than the hour-plus stretches that Osceola or Polk can involve.
That density shapes the work itself. Lots are close together, mature tree cover is heavy across Longwood and Altamonte in particular, and overhanging limbs are a live factor in how a roof wears — abrasion on the covering, blocked valleys, and debris sitting in gutters holding moisture against the edge. Tree work and roof work are more entangled here than anywhere else we cover.
The building stock spans several decades, so Seminole tends to have both original roofs reaching the end of their lives and newer replacements sitting side by side on the same street.
