Citrus County Service Area

Citrus County's seat is Inverness, sitting inland among the Tsala Apopka chain of lakes, while the county's whole western edge is genuine Gulf coast — Crystal River and Homosassa, spring-fed rivers running out through the marsh to open water.

That water frontage is what sets Citrus apart from nearly everything else on our list. The rest of what our Clermont office covers is inland; here the air carries salt, and salt does not really attack a shingle. It attacks everything holding the roof together. Nails, flashing, drip edge, vent collars, valley metal, the fixings on any metal panel — all of it corrodes from the outside in, quietly, while the covering above still looks perfectly serviceable from the street. It is entirely normal here to find sound-looking roofing sitting on metalwork that has been failing for years, and that is exactly the failure nobody spots from the ground.

So an inspection in this county should be spending its time on the fixings. If someone looks at your Citrus County roof and only talks about the shingles, they have looked at half of it.
